VISUAL RHETORIC: Reflective Journal

                My project was divided into three parts to demonstrate the effects, reaons, and the resolution to the main issue of this world’s agenda, violence. Initially, it starts with many images of ongoing violence all over the world. Next slides were to show the source of the violence in our future generations which I think is the television because there are many shows that are for kids but very much violent. This builds their mentality in a way that it influences them to use violence in solving their problems that they face in as they grow up. Next few slides actually plays as a clip of a movie, where it begins with bullets’ casings around the feet of an adolescent and next slide follows with a dead person to visualize the effects of weapons which is the main source of violence. Next few minutes of slides follow the theme of portraying the violence in many different ways such as riots, fights breaking out during a football game, images of war which is the main cause of violence, and many images of fights in the streets in different countries.

      The second part of the project refers to reasons of violence in which case there are too just many in today’s society. Some parts of the world, such as Israel and Palestine, has been fighting  from many decades because of land and they still continue to fight. I think this controversial issue gives many people justification for allowing violence to continue despite of everybody’s own reasons. In many undeveloped countries violence is mainly inevitable because of lack of governments’ regulation. I believe corruption in many countries has lead violence to increase despite of their lack of government control. There are few slides in the midpoint of the project that also includes the images of the war widowers for the emotional appeal of this presentation. Finally, the main reason would be conflicts within the people for their own reasons which is very much required to overcome the main goal in my project which is world peace.

     Finally, the last part of this visual rhetoric is on overall resolution of the goal of achieving world peace by reducing violence. Towards the end of my project, there are many images about solving the issue of violence by trying to demonstrate the idea of “unity” among the people of this planet. This pargt begins with slides portraying the important detail of achieving world peace which is the world is in our(every individual)  hands and how far are you willing to go to achieve this goal. Although sometimes it is not our fault but there is something that can be done to prevent it which requires unity among us individually. In addition, there are many times that the politicians are the reason behind of raging citizens of different countries however if the citizens develops some kind of unity among themselves then it is possible to overthrow that government. For example, Pakistani president Zardari is a convicted felon which is a fact known to everybody yet he still maintains the right to be a leader of a nation which is absurd. Therefore I think unity should be everybody’s prime concern above all the things we desire because there is nothing in this world can justify the deaths of innocent people and especially young children who often become casualties in these violent acts.

      With varities of topics to pick from I chose to do my project to protest the violence in today’s society. Because it is an important aspect in today’s society of trying to maintain some kind of peace among the nations all around the world as equally as within the nations. People have always been fighting and will continue in future over some reason. However, the fact I despise about it is that most of the time it’s the innocent one that suffers. I have witnessed that somehow throughout my whole life. Because of others’ conflicts the violence is always consisted of casualties which I loathe with passion. I am not saying that it will end but it not be as common as it is in today’s society. In many undeveloped nations, politicians are the main cause of promoting violence among their people. However, If the people were to realize that if everyone does their part of trying to maintain peace it can be reduced by great amount which can lead the world closer to peace. But I do not see the end in violence ever because there are just so many reasons for violence that it just makes violence inevitable for future. Although it should never affect the innocent ones such as young children yet it still does, which is the main reason of me choosing this topic. Personally I think the only resolution of this issue of increasing violence in this world would be unification among all the people in the world to achieve this goal of world peace.
